The National Legal Symposium took place in Washington D.C. on April 11-12th, 2008. The symposium focused on Medicare and patient advocacy. This symposium, which was organized collaboratively with Patient Advocate Foundation and The George Washington University's School of Public Health and Health Services, Department of Health Policy, offered an impressive array of expert speakers on Medicare and an overview of the key emerging legal issues that will affect the program and its more than 40 million beneficiaries in the coming years.

Your Voice Makes A Difference
The purpose of the symposium was not only to offer in-depth insight into Medicare but also to discuss the techniques and challenges of representing Medicare beneficiaries whose claims for treatment have been denied or delayed or whose quality of care has been adversely affected. The American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics (ASLME) was on-site to facilite on-line applications for the nine (9) Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits earned by attendance to this conference that were approved in 18 states!

The seminar will began on Friday afternoon, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. and continued through Saturday, April 12, 2008, with pre-registration at noon and formal opening at 2:00 p.m. The conference was held at One Washington Circle Hotel, located near the GWU campus at Foggy Bottom and within walking distance to the The River Inn and The George Washington University Inn.
